From initial sketch to oiled finished piece - I think I must have been influenced by my love of Grecian ceramics…the deep dark colour of the wenge and the ‘orange’ of the lacewood are a mirror image of the colours often used in some of the ancient pieces of pottery I have looked at all my life in various museums! [the last image is of a Grecian ‘bowl’ for mixing wine & water 450BC in the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
Could be wonderful in a gallery, or restaurant/private club as a smart and unusual reception desk or salon, studio, office, study, kitchen/dining room or even luxury bedroom!
Care Instructions: Keep dry and dust with a dry cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight, but can be oiled to darken again
